How to Create and Shape Dot Art in the iDesignIts Design Studio

Looking for a simple and creative way to experiment with shapes? Dot Art in the iDesignIts Design Studio lets you transform a collection of dots into almost any shape you can imagine.

Whether you're creating a fashion concept, jewelry design, decorative artwork, or simply experimenting with digital shapes, Dot Art gives you a flexible way to build and reshape your ideas.

1. Turn On the Dots. Open the iDesignIts Design Studio and find the Dot button.

Click the Dot button once.

A collection of dots will appear on the canvas.

These dots can now be moved and reshaped to create your own design.

2. Turn the Dots Off. Finished working with the dots or want to see your design without them?

Simply click the Dot button again.

The dots will be turned off.

You can click the button again whenever you want to bring them back.

3. Drag the Dots to Create Your Shape. This is where the creative part begins.

You can drag individual dots around the canvas to reshape the arrangement.

Move the dots closer together, spread them apart, or reposition them to create the outline you want.

With enough experimentation, you can transform the original arrangement into many different forms.

For example, you can create curves, letters, symbols, jewelry-inspired shapes, decorative patterns, abstract designs, and custom silhouettes.

Think of each dot as a small building block. Move enough of them around and you can gradually transform the entire design.

4. Move a Group of Dots Together. You don't always need to move the dots one at a time.

If you want to move several dots together, right-click on the canvas and select Group Dots.

Once the dots are grouped, you can drag the group and move them together.

This is especially useful when you have already created part of a design and want to reposition it without disturbing the arrangement of the individual dots.

Group workflow: Right-click -> Group Dots -> Select the Group -> Drag.

Grouping can save time when working with larger or more detailed dot designs.

5. Create Your Own Dot Art. The fun part of Dot Art is that there isn't just one correct shape.

Start with the dots and experiment.

Move individual dots to refine the shape. Group dots when you want to reposition a larger section. Turn the dots off when you want to view your work without the dot overlay.

You can gradually turn a simple collection of points into a completely different design.
